Our Sustainability Policy

We aspire to be a pillar of stability for the Greek economy, to fuel growth and to support innovation. We want our footprint in the society to be positive and ongoing for the benefit of our customers, our people, our shareholders, and the society at large, fully reflecting our values. The Piraeus Group Sustainability Policy aims to support, promote, and finance sustainability with adherence to ESG criteria.

2023
Piraeus Bank received the Global Award in the category Client Service & Relationship Management, from Global Custodian.
2021
Signature of the Principles for the Empowerment of Women created by the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women.
Publication of the Group's new Sustainable Development Policy which sets the strategic guidelines for supporting, promoting and financing sustainability.
The Bank's Environmental Management System (EMS) is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and EMAS.
2020
Active participation in UNEP FI working groups, practical implementation of the Principles of Responsible Banking and development of tools to enhance financing for sustainable development.
Provision of funding directly linked to the operation of businesses and the priorities they have set in terms of sustainable development.
2019
Participation in the "Joint Climate Action Commitment" to finance sustainable development and limit global average temperature increase.
