We actively respect human rights and have been implementing the principles of the UN Global Compact since 2004. We put the principle of equal opportunities into practice in all our actions, ensure non-discrimination, while at the same time recognising and respecting diversity.

Gender equality

Piraeus Bank is the first Greek bank to sign the Women's Empowerment Principles of the UN Global Compact and UN Women, making commitments to strengthen gender equality. In addition, it was included for the second year in Bloomberg's Gender - Equality Index (GEI) 2023 among 484 companies worldwide.

Gender equality in the workplace is an on going process to create alignment from top management as well as large scale employee engagement. Our action planning consists of initiatives to challenging gender stereotypes, self-improvement and self-care initiatives and developmental work initiatives, as well as establishing a reporting framework of several metrics.
