Piraeus Bank present at all stages of entrepreneurship and innovation support

For the support and strengthening of newly established companies in technology sector, Piraeus Bank is announcing its participation in the fourth round of investments financing in Openfund, still remaining the key investor and supporter. After the completion of the fourth round of investments, Piraeus Bank is involved and supports nine newly established companies.

Openfund consists of a number of selected members with knowhow and experience in the area of investments and entrepreneurship and is set up with a unique vision: to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and investment funds. It is a new venture, unique in Greece, supporting innovative ideas in emerging technologies (such as software or the internet), offering extensive consulting and support in the creation of a new enterprise. It is thus addressed to young people who wish to shift from the stage of an idea to the creation of a new enterprise.

Openfund started operating with Piraeus Bank being its key supporter and major investor; the latter takes on a leading role in entrepreneurship and new technologies boosting, in cooperation with a series of successful executives and Greek entrepreneurs.

With its participation in Openfund, Piraeus Bank becomes present in all stages of entrepreneurship and innovation support, since Openfund covers the first stages of a company from the inception to its creation. Piraeus Capital Management (administrator of the fund between Piraeus Bank and TANEO) covers the subsequent steps of a newly developed company and the Group's broader sector of Private Equity, represented by Piraeus Equity Advisors, covers the more mature stages of a business venture.
