In pursuance of the provision stipulated in article 16, paragraph 10, Law 2190/1920, as currently in force, and further to the relevant decision of the Ordinary General Meeting of shareholders on 07/04/04, PIRAEUS BANK S.A. announces that the period for the acquisition of its own shares was drawn to a close on 30/03/05. The number of shares that were acquired amounted to 4,804,925 at an average acquisition value of Euro 11.73. Thus, the total number of own shares that Piraeus Bank owns after the distribution of 3,485,710 of its own shares to institutional investors reaches 1,859,825, i.e. 0.93% of its share capital.
