Winbank, Piraeus Bank’s e-banking service, won a major distinction from the internationally recognised British Banking Technology magazine. Winbank won the 2nd award (Highly recommended) in the Best On-line and Multichannel Banking Team category. The first prize was awarded to Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, while Deutsche Bank Global Markets e-Commer also received the Highly recommended award.
This award is yet another international distinction added to the multitude of awards won by Piraeus Bank’s e-banking service. The same magazine had awarded the 2nd “Highly recommended” prize to Winbank in 2001, too, for the set of integrated electronic services it offered at the time. This year the award was based on the Winbank Alert! Innovative banking services offered by Piraeus Bank.
This new generation of e-banking services provides customers with immediate and “personalized” information. Customers select the transactions or conditions they would like to be informed about (real-time) from a vast menu, and state the preferred means of communication (SMS, e-mail, phone call from the Call Center). Customers are thus immediately informed, among others, that.
- their account balance is below a predefined limit
- the balance is not adequate for the payment of an obligation
- a cheque has been deposited to their account
- a stock trading order has been performed
- a remittance has been received
- a withdrawal has been made at an ATM or branch teller
- their credit card balance or electricity bill, etc. has been paid
It is noted that all Piraeus Bank customers have access to this service, without having registered to any other e-banking service (e.g. internet banking). Dozens of thousands of the Bank’s customers already use this service successfully.
Though the on-going offer of new innovative services, Piraeus Bank asserts its goals: to make full use of technology and be a pioneer in modern forms of customer service.
