ISO 9001:2000 Certification for winbank services of Piraeus Bank

The TUV Certification Council unanimously approved the certification of the Piraeus Bank Administration of Electronic Banking and Cards (winbank) according to the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 model. Following the evaluation of RWTUV HELLAS, an independent, accredited Institution of Certification of TUV CERT Rhineland –Westphalia, compliance of the winbank system with the requirements regarding standardised operation based on recorded competences and processes was established.

More specifically, the certificate was granted with respect to the qualitative processes followed by winbank in the following spectrum of activities:

  • winbank internet (internet banking)
  • winbank mobile (mobile banking)
  • winbank phone (phone banking)
  • winbank atm (ATM network)
  • winbank payCenter (electronic transactions through the internet with or without credit card)

The DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 model focuses on the company’s continuous improvement aiming at the same time at customer fulfilment regarding the services provided; the model also constitutes an implement of strategic importance for the maintenance of the objectives set by winbank, where the key objective is customer satisfaction.

The respective certification is of major importance, as it is the first one granted in an Electronic Financial Services Provision Unit in the Greek financial market, promoting winbank as the unique platform of electronic transactions in Greece certified by ISO.

Winbank, during the four years of operation, has in total received fourteen distinctions at European and Greek level and has a major share in the market of active users of electronic banking. Besides, Piraeus Bank was awarded by the international magazine “The Banker” with the prize of "Bank of the year 2003" in Greece given the quality of electronic banking services offered via winbank.
